    Course outline

    Module 1: The shutdown procedure

    The consecutive phases of the shutdown procedure:

    • cooling and depressuring
    • pumping out
    • removal of residual hydrocarbons
    • removal of corrosive or poisonous materials
    • disposal of water
    • blinding and opening
    • removal of pyrophoric iron sulphide
    • inspection for entering.

    Module 2: The start-up procedure

    The consecutive phases of the start-up procedure:

    • preliminary preparations
    • preparation of auxiliary equipment and services
    • elimination of air
    • tightness testing
    • backing in fuel gas
    • elimination of water
    • bringing the unit onstream.
