It's more than 50 years since the first Distillation and Absorption conference was held in 1960 with subsequent events taking place every ten years until 1987 when it was recognised that more frequent ones were needed. As distillation and absorption are hugely important industrial separation technologies, large in scale and heave in energy usage, and with the world's demand for energy growing by some 60% in the next 25 years, there are enormous incentives to introduce new and improved methods and equipment to improve the sustainability of these operations.

This collection of 99 contributions spanning 23 countries showcase the newest and best distillation and absorption technologies which cover a broad range of fundamental and applied aspects of the technology.
